Transferring to other institutions

To transfer your credits earned at Southwest Tech to another institution, they must satisfy the course, credit, and grade requirements of the college where you seek to enroll. That institution has the discretion to accept or deny your Southwest Tech credits.

Southwest Tech to the UW System

If you desire to transfer from Southwest Tech to a UW System school, you may be able to apply your credits toward a bachelor’s degree in the following ways:

  • You may be eligible to transfer up to 15 credits of general education coursework.

  • If you have successfully completed associate of applied arts or associate of applied science degree program, you may be eligible to transfer certain technical support and/or occupational credits, provided there is a direct relationship between your associate degree program and one offered at a UW System institution.

  • You may earn credit by achieving sufficient scores on national standardized examinations (e.g., College Level Examination program) or on examinations developed by the UW System transfer institution.

For more information about transferring to the UW System, we encourage you to speak with your Southwest Tech program counselor, the admissions office at a UW System institution, or visit the Transfer Information System (TIS) website at http://www.uwsa.edu/tis/.
