Electromechanical Technology
Automation, robotics, programmable logic controllers, and computers: these are a few of the technologies increasingly relied on by industry to remain competitive in a global marketplace. Virtually every modern product and convenience from the vehicles we drive, to the utilities that light and heat our homes, to the food and drink on our tables relies on a complex mix of computerized and automated electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems from production through packaging and distribution. Electromechanical technicians are the highly skilled workers responsible for installing, programming, monitoring, and maintaining these complex technologies and systems.

Because of industry's continuing expansion of and reliance on automation and computerization. Electromechanical Technology continues to be one of the fastest growing career fields of the decade. Graduates can choose from a variety of interesting, challenging and financially rewarding career opportunities in virtually any industry that you can name. Recent graduates of the Electromechanical Technology program are employed in a diverse range of industries and occupations including: field service technician, residential and industrial electrician, industrial maintenance mechanic, wind turbine technician, technical sales representative, research and development technician, dairy automation technician, and public utilities technician.

Program Outcomes
At the completion of this program, graduates will be able to:
- Set up and operate equipment or systems to ensure reliable performance.
- Install, remove, and relocate equipment and systems as directed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and update manufacturing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Perform safety inspection.
- Select and order required parts and materials using parts list, catalogs, and standard books
Program Basics
- Associate degree, requiring a minimum of two years to complete.
- Day and evening classes.
- High school articulation courses accepted.
- Financial aid available.
- Classes start in August.
Program Admission Requirements
- Complete required assessment testing.
- Complete the application form.
- Interview with counselor.
- Pay a $30 nonrefundable application fee.
- Submit high school and any post-secondary transcripts.
- Students may re-apply to be admitted to a program for which they initially do not meet the Student Academic Achievement Plan (SAAP) criteria after they follow the additional courses and alternate program sequence prescibed for them.
