Students practice nail services on customers in a salon environment. They apply knowledge and skills learned in their related theory lab classes to hands-on work experience. Students perform all manicure and pedicure services as well as all nail extension services in a salon atmosphere.
Prerequisites:
Accepted in Nail Technician Certificate.
Nail Technology I (31-502-339) and
Salon/Spa Science (31-502-364)
with a grade of "C" or better.
Corequisites:
Salon/Spa Management (31-502-390)

|
Students safely prepare working area for nail services. They adopt safety and sanitation procedures; identify nail and skin disorders and diseases and study the anatomy and physiology as related to the hands and feet.
Students practice communication skills to identify client's desires and needs. Students develop skills in manicuring, pedicuring and nail enhancements.
Prerequisites:
Accepted in Barber/Cosmetologist Program (31-502-1) or
Nail Technician Certificate.
Corequisitites:
Nail Technician's only / Salon/Spa Science (31-502-364)

|
|
Students continue their study of nail and skin disorders and diseases as related to the hands and feet. Students practice communication skills to identify client's needs and desires for nail extensions. Students practice advanced manicure and pedicure procedures and various nail extension services used in the industry.
Prerequisites:
Accepted in Barber/Cosmetologist Program (31-502-1), with completion of all sem 1 and 2 and 3 502 courses with a "C" grade or better;or
Nail Technician Certificate with completion of Nail Technology I (31-502-339) and Salon/Spa Science 1 (31-502-364) with a "C" grade or better; or
Co-requisites:
Nail Services (31-502-322) and
Salon/Spa Management (31-502-390)
