Tony Redington is a 2015 graduate of Southwest Tech in the Electro-Mechanical Technology program. He was recently hired as the Western Equipment Dealers Association Instructor at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He wanted to share his story on how Southwest Tech was a contributing factor on his path to finding his dream job.
“I was applying for numerous positions in the United States and Canada. After being interviewed for most of them I applied for a faculty position at OSUIT because of a Southwest Tech homework assignment. My son Kyle Redington, attends the Ag Business/Science and Technology program at Southwest Tech and asked me about a beef cow ratio formula. I explained to him that I did not have an answer but I knew someone who could help him. So I made a phone call to a friend for this information who told me to google “OSU stock cow ratios”, so we did. After we found the needed information I checked for employment opportunities and the rest as they say, is history. As you can see Southwest Tech has helped me in several ways: with an AAS Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology and by sending homework assignments home with Kyle. And I want to thank everyone at Southwest Tech for everything you do. I am where I am because I graduated from Southwest Tech. Thank you again to everyone at Southwest Tech.”
