Are you organized? Do you have good communication skills? Do you enjoy working with people and like using various forms of office software? Office Support Specialist may be the ideal program for you.
Students entering the Office Support Specialist program should possess the following:
- Basic knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and vocabulary
- Pleasant personality and poise
- Aptitude for office/computer skills
- Ability to work well with people
- Technical diploma requiring a minimum of one year to complete
- Day and evening classes
- High school articulation courses accepted
- Financial aid available
- Classes start in August or January.
- The Office Support Specialist program is the entire first year of the two-year Administrative Professional program; therefore, the courses are 100 percent transferable to the Administrative Professional associate degree program.
- The Administrative Professional associate degree program can be completed in two additional semesters with a combination of either online or face-to-face classes.

At the completion of the program, graduates will be able to do the following:

Employment opportunities are available in a wide range of offices and firms such as health, manufacturing, insurance, education, government, real estate, banking, and others. Possible employment opportunities may include the following:
- Office Support Specialist: Works with a variety of software applications; retrieves and enters computer information to assist management in decision-making responsibilities.
- Office Assistant: Performs a variety of office duties that could include handling customer relations, setting up meetings, and handling correspondence.
- Receptionist: Serves as the front line office person meeting/greeting customers, answering telephones, and performing other general office duties.
- Office Clerk: Completes a broad range of administrative tasks that could include answering telephones, typing, filing, and data entry.
- Information Clerk: Provides administrative and clerical support in a variety of settings, maintains records, collects data and information, and responds to customers' questions/concerns.
