About the Southwest Tech Foundation

Established in 1981 as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, the primary function of the Southwest Wisconsin Technical College Foundation, Inc. is to identify, solicit, and manage alternative sources of funding to support students' academic experience at Southwest Tech.

The Foundation's mission is to promote learning through funding and activities that enable Southwest Tech to provide opportunities for success.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and with the help of our community partners, the Foundation achieves this mission through fundraising and friend-raising activities and events with individuals, businesses, alumni, grant-making institutions and other community organizations.

Student-support programs funded by the Foundation work toward eliminating barriers in students' lives so they can go on to achieve success in and out of the classroom. These programs include, but are not limited to:

  • tuition scholarships
  • transportation assistance
  • student short term emergency funding programs

The Foundation owns and operates student housing that provides 100 students with a place to reside while attending Southwest Tech.

The Foundation accepts in-kind gifts of equipment, supplies, and resources to improve and enhance the educational experiences of all students.
