Colleen and I are organizing another trip to Haiti. The trip this year is April 16th to the 24th. We are taking 8 eager students with us and once again we go into the planning with excitement, but always the nervousness of Haiti travel. What an amazing group of students that will be traveling with us. These students bring energy and new ideas that will be shared with the Haitian people. They have already planned fund raisers, designed shirts and started collecting supplies. The group members include Amy McWilliams, Paula Moebius, Katie Elmer, Sara McKibben, Tory Wetter, Krystle Blabaum, Rebecca Hellenbrand and Danielle Bennett. Look for more stories from the students as we continue the planning and organization and then more exciting stories as they share their experiences in Haiti.
I know how much Dani has been looking forward to this trip. She mentioned it the FIRST time right after a clinical she was in with Penney. Then it came time to write her application for the trip. She was so nervous and excited to possibly have this opportunity.
Then the news came that she was chosen to go…YAY! How exciting! Dani has done quit a bit of traveling and has seen the poverty that some of these people endure. But, this is going to be a trip that will stay with her heart and mind forever. To work first hand with the wonderful children of Haiti is a great opportunity for all of the students involved.
