Packed room. Standing along the walls. The kind of energy you feel before a session even beginsβ€”and you know it matters.

We are very proud of Mandy Henkel, Executive Director of College Effectiveness/Accreditation, and Cynthia Larsen, Chief Academic Officer, for representing Southwest Tech at HLC and sharing the work that is changing outcomes for our students.

As the 2025 Aspen Institute College Excellence Program Prize winner, Southwest Wisconsin Technical Collge continues to lead with purpose, embedding work-based learning across every program, not as an add-on, but as a core part of the student experience.

What they shared today is what makes the difference:
 β€’ Early career awareness
 β€’ Intentional exploration
 β€’ Real preparation
 β€’ Meaningful application

This is how we move the needle on graduation rates, equitable access, and post-college success.

This is how students graduate into family-sustaining, high-wage careers, with confidence and clarity.

We are grateful to be part of a team that doesn’t just talk about student success, we build systems that make it possible.
