Andersen Corporate Foundation supports Sponsor-A-Scholar Program

Fennimore -

The Southwest Wisconsin Technical College Foundation has received a generous $10,000 gift from the Andersen Corporate Foundation to benefit its Sponsor-A-Scholar Program (SASP), aimed at supporting motivated students pursuing skilled careers.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Andersen Corporate Foundation and deeply appreciate their significant contribution,” said Angie Herting, director of development and major gifts, at Southwest Tech. “This grant will empower our students to achieve their goals, enhance their lives, and positively impact their communities.”

The SASP targets driven individuals in the region who are seeking skilled careers. “Our community faces the dual challenge of providing opportunities and resources for ambitious students to successfully pursue and complete their degrees, while regional employers need a skilled workforce to thrive,” Herting explained. “SASP addresses these needs by connecting eligible students with companies willing to invest in their education and futures.”

The Andersen Corporate Foundation’s generous gift exemplifies its commitment to education and workforce development, ensuring that motivated students have the opportunity to succeed and contribute to their communities. “We are thrilled to have supported nearly 90 organizations in our spring grant round, including Southwest Wisconsin Technical College,” said Eliza Chlebeck, vice president of communications and community at Andersen. “By investing in education, we help create lasting, positive impacts in our community.”

At Southwest Tech, a significant 72 percent of students require financial assistance, highlighting the crucial need for support. The SASP recognizes this financial need and strives to bridge the gap by providing scholarships, paid internships, and employment opportunities. This initiative aims to empower and uplift students, especially those facing financial constraints, by offering them the resources and support necessary to successfully complete their education and embark on fulfilling careers in skilled fields.

The Andersen Corporate Foundation’s support transforms individual lives while strengthening the region’s economic future by cultivating a skilled and capable workforce. To learn more about Sponsor-A-Scholar contact Angie Herting at Aherting@swtc.edu.
