Free Small Business Clinic to be hosted on campus

Fennimore -

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Eau Claire and the Southwest Wisconsin SBDC will host a Small Business Clinic, free to all participants on March 4, at Southwest Tech, 1800 Bronson Boulevard, in Fennimore, Wisconsin. 

The event begins at 9 a.m. and is a “choose-your-own-adventure” for entrepreneurs. Sign up for one appointment with an expert or schedule several. Participants can schedule 30-minute sessions with consultants to discuss financials, marketing, taxes, legal issues or starting a business. The confidential, free one-on-one appointments can be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Consulting services will be available in Spanish from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. 

“Whether you’re not sure where to start or you’re ready to make a leap, our experts are here to offer trusted insights and industry-specific advice, free of charge,” said Nora Roughen-Schmidt, business consultant with the Southwest Wisconsin SBDC. “Please join us on March 4 and we will help get you started.”

In addition to the 30-minute appointments, participants may attend lecture style, group sessions at 11a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sessions include All About E-Commerce and How to Get Your Business Online with entrepreneur Becca Cooke of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; General Business Law with UW Madison’s Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic; and Business Taxes with the Department of Financial Institutions.  

Stay for lunch and meet fellow entrepreneurs, mingle with local organizations that support entrepreneurship, or participate in a business plan working lunch session hosted by local Southwest Wisconsin SBDC Business Consultant Nora Roughen-Schmidt.
