UPDATE FROM PRESIDENT, JASON S. WOOD, Ph.D. – March 13, 2020
Dear College Community,
We continue to monitor the COVID-19 crisis and are following through on our commitment to regular communication. Please note all Southwest Tech classes will be canceled starting Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. This includes in-person, online, outreach sites, credit, non-credit, continuing education, and all other instructional activities.
Our Emergency Response Team is currently convening to determine our plan for other services. We anticipate faculty and staff will be asked to work on contingency plans and alternative work options. We will use next week to create a longer range plan. More details we be provided tomorrow and Sunday.
Please remember to follow the recommended guidelines for staying healthy. I ask that you limit your travel, restrict your interactions with others, and stay home if you are sick. Please.
Thank you for your patience. We will continue to assess the options available and make the best decisions possible as more information emerges. Please remember to extend kindness and empathy to those who do experience illness or other setbacks during this difficult time. We can get ahead of this outbreak and will be better for it.
