Alumni Spotlight: Mysti Nundahl
MYSTI NUNDAHL
Southwest Tech Administrative Professional graduate. Ben’s wife. Aundrea’s mom.

Mysti’s life was turned upside down in 2009 when she was laid off from her job, leaving both her and her husband unemployed due to the downfall in the economy. Mysti took the opportunity to come to Southwest Tech with the hopes of creating a better life for her family.
“Life happens. It’s how you deal with it and move on that matters. Giving up would have been easy. Instead, I researched the college and found that Southwest Tech offered small class sizes, wasn’t far from home and could allow me to still spend time with my family. After meeting with my counselor and seeing people in the hallway, I knew Southwest Tech was the place for me.”
Mysti knew she was a very detail-oriented person who liked working with people, so chose to enroll in the Administrative Professional program.
“I’m not going to lie, I was scared about taking a math class for part of my program. The staff in the Academic Services helped me with my math review and I felt confident to go on with my required math class. I ended up passing that class at the end of the semester with an A!”
Mysti became an active member of academic honors society Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Ambassador program, along with taking advantage of the student workstudy program.
“It’s how you get through it and make the best of every situation that makes the difference. Ultimately, Southwest Tech impacted my life and made me a better person. The staff works with you so that you can still have a life, be a parent, have a job, and attend your classes. The College became a second home and second family to me and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.”
Mysti is currently the Office Receptionist at Westbrook Associated Engineers, Inc. in Spring Green, WI.
