Students in the Human Services Associate Program are eligible to join the HSA Club.
The Human Services Associate Club is a student organization which provides service to the community, offers leadership opportunities to Human Services Associate students, and creates opportunities for students to socialize and support each other as they develop their career interests. Each year during spring break in March the Human Services Associate Club (HSAC) takes members to the Midwest Organization for Human Services Annual Conference. Club members recently travelled to the Chicago area and Michigan for this three-day conference where they met students in human services programs from colleges and universities in the 12 state Midwest Region. Ivy Tech in Indiana hosts the 2014 conference. This professional conference presents inspiring keynote speakers, excellent workshops, and a resource fair.
Student officers and the club advisor lead the club's fund-raising activities for donations to Badger Camp, the Southwest Tech holiday project for students and to defray the cost for club members to attend the annual conference. Other club activities include designing and selling HSAC t-shirts, meeting recruiters from colleges with B.A. and B.S. programs to further their education, and enjoying holiday parties and other celebrations together.
The Human Services Associate Club meets every other Wednesday during the Meeting Hour, from 10:30 – 11:20 in Room 126.
