Southwest Tech… this is where people care.
The College and Foundation have had several supporters reach out and ask what they can do to help the college and our students during this crisis. We understand that everyone is impacted by this crisis, and for some, giving is a way they can make a difference at a time when so much feels outside of our control. The Southwest Tech Foundation has created the Support Our Students (S.O.S.) Fund. This fund will support our students in the most impactful ways possible throughout the crisis. Uses of this fund include but are not limited to:
- Emergency grants – similar to the Charger Dream emergency grants, these grants will be awarded to students facing a financial emergency due to the COVID-19 crisis, such as an unplanned purchase of a computer or increased data needs for connectivity for online and alternative learning.
- Purchase of technology or technology licenses to supplement and/or substitute clinical learning. The nursing and medical lab technician programs have identified clinical simulation products that would provide students hands-on clinical experiences during a time that students are not allowed in clinical sites.
- Meal vouchers for off-campus meals for students who previously relied on college dining services and on-campus meal vouchers and programs like Feed a Charger and Charge Forward Breakfast Club.
If you can, we need your help to increase support to our students during this unprecedented time. Southwest Tech continues to increase services to assist our students, and your support will help us be successful in this effort and in turn, help our students be successful and stay on track for graduation.
