All Southwest Tech students are eligible to participate in the Clay Target Team.
The Southwest Tech Clay Target Team is excited for the 2022/2023 season. During the 2021/2022 season, the team won many awards in the USA College Clay Target League. The team placed first overall in the USA College Clay Target National Championship and had the individual champion. During the regular season, the team had the high male and high female in the league. The team will continue to compete with the MCAC and the USA Clay Target League this year. The team’s home club is the Muscoda Sportsman’s Club and competes virtually on Thursday evenings along with in-person competitions. Meet the Coaches
Matt Schneider is an Advisor and one of the trapshooting coaches on campus. Matt started trapshooting when he was 12 years old and it has become a lifelong sport and passion. Matt is a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and has registered 35,000 targets. He has competed and won awards at state trapshoot tournaments in Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Wyoming, Colorado, and Illinois.
Matt is a certified shotgun instructor through the NRA and ATA. He has served as the state director for the ATA’s AIM program and Scholastic Clay Target Program. He is also currently serving as the state director for the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League.
Dan Imhoff is the Director of Facilities and one of the trapshooting coaches on campus. Dan is an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is responsible for the care, maintenance, construction, remodeling, as well as the safety and security of all College buildings, furnishing, and grounds. Dan also serves as the chairperson of the college's Safety Committee and Behavioral Intervention Team. He is excited to help the Southwest Tech trap team grow in its second year.
Dan is an ATA member, certified shotgun instructor through the NRA, a certified Range Safety Officer, and serving as the state director of the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League.
Mia Hillebrand Mia Hillebrand is one of the trapshooting coaches on campus. She has been trapshooting since the age of 11 years old with her family at the local trap shooting club and it has become one of her favorite sports to participate in. Mia participated on the River Valley Trap Shooting team for 4 years in High School and served her Senior year as the female team captain.
She recently graduated from Southwest Tech from the Agriculture Business & Technology - Animal Science Program and was an active participant on the SWTC Clay Target Team. She is now currently a State DATCP Meat Inspector in Southwestern Wisconsin. She is excited to help recruit and grow the SWTC Clay Target Team.
